RESUMO Nas últimas décadas a participação das mulheres no mercado de trabalho passou por marcantes transformações. A presença feminina já pode ser percebida nos espaços públicos e em territórios, até então, exclusivos aos homens. A pesquisa que propomos também trata da maternidade das mulheres que pilotam. A cabine de pilotagem altamente técnica foi, no Brasil, até meados da década de 1980 um espaço reservado aos homens. A investigação utiliza a metodologia da história oral obtida através de relatos de mulheres e homens que atuam como pilotos, possibilitando a compreensão da dimensão dos obstáculos superados, tais como: as barreiras do preconceito, as dificuldades da relação família-trabalho, a relação entre mãe-filho-aviação e a relação mulher-comando.

ABSTRACT Over the last decades, the women's share of the labor market has experienced several changes. The presence of the female gender can be noticed on public charges and territories previously occupied solely by the masculine figure. This research aims to approach the maternity on pilots. The highly technical labor performed on cockpits in Brazil during the 80's has been filled with male pilots. The research uses oral history as a methodological tool, obtained from female and male pilot reports, thus providing knowledge to measure the greatness of the obstacles, such as: the barriers of prejudice, the issues between family/parenting and work (aviation), and the women-captain relationship.
